Good news for all visitors to Orkney this summer; Historic Environment Scotland (HES) have been given permission to convert premises in nearby Stenness into a new visitor centre for Maeshowe, including improved car parking arrangements and on-site signage. This will be a relief for those visitors who come to view the UNESCO World Heritage monuments known as Heart of Neolithic Orkney: Maeshowe is one of the central attractions, along with Ring of Brodgar, Standing Stones of Stenness and Skara Brae. As Annie's Place is only a short drive from these sites, this news will be welcome to our guests, some of whom are travelling from far afield to experience the wonders of these unique visitor attractions.
