On our way south recently we had successfuly negotiated the hair pin bend and current roadworks at Berriedale and realised we had time to stop for lunch at The River Bothy at the bottom of the hill. Once there, we just wish we had found the delights of this tea-room sooner. The friendly and helpful staff have been serving reasonably priced, tasty, well presented food, delicious homebaking and great coffee (or tea/soft drinks) for the past three years. The River Bothy is in the attractively updated laundry building of the "Big Hoose" up the hill. There is also a small selection of gifts for purchase. We definitely plan to call in for a treat on our future journeys north and south to Orkney.
