Today's weather was perfect for visiting Orkney's World Heritage site of Ring of Brodgar and then walking further on along the roadside path between the freshwater Loch of Harray and the seawater Loch of Stennes. This gentle stroll will bring you to the Standing Stones of Stenness and the nearby Barnhouse Settlement. Once you have marvelled at the remains of the great stone circles and envisaged life in the rooms of the ancient village houses, wander down to Harray lochside where there is a bird hide for peaceful viewing of flocks of swans and the other wildlife which frequent the area.
