Saturday

Already its time to pack up to catch the boat home !

And you realise you have not managed to visit..........The Tomb of the Eagles, Shapinsay Castle, The Gloup, The Earls' Palace in Kirkwall, the World War II Twatt Airfield Control Tower, or Happy Valley at Bluebell time......yes, as the photo proves, there are a few trees in Orkney!!

You still had to go out for a trip on an Orkney Yole in Scapa Flow, and to go fishing for trout on Boardhouse Loch; you've still to take the ferry to Hoy to visit Lyness Wartime Museum and to walk over moorland to The Dwarfie Stane, a well as across the cliffs to St John's Head and The Old Man of Hoy.

You have had no time to fit in a visit to the modern Pickaquoy Sports Centre and Swimming Pool or spend an evening at the live relay from London's The Royal Opera House, or see round the Sheila Fleet or Orkney Chairs workshops.......and what about the REAL Harray Potter, just a few miles from Annie's Place ?

Then do you remember you also had on your list a walk across the sands to Marwick Head, and up to the new H.M.S. Hampshire Memorial wall? Also a trip across the Churchill Barriers to St Margaret's Hope where the Fair Maid of Norway landed on her way to marry King James of Scotland, or out to Cubbie Roo's Castle on the island of Wyre, etc. etc.

Ah well, you can always book Annie's Place again for next year !
