Visitors to Palace village in Birsay cannot help but see that we are in process of transforming our Orkney home and self catering apartment back to its 1760's original appearance by removing the 1970's grey cement and harling. The seabirds love high tide on Birsay Bay, especially on a stormy day; the waves smash onto the seaweed disturbing insects which float on the tide for the birds to gobble up as each wave ebbs and flows.
